Technology-Supported Assessment in Action
Grade 9 and Grade 10 learners experienced a technology-enabled mode of assessment as the school administered its First-Term Summative Tests through the Xepto Learning Management System.
A New Mode of Taking Summative Tests
Grade 9 and Grade 10 learners of Bonifacio Camacho National High School took their First-Term Summative Tests through the Xepto Learning Management System on July 6, 2026. The activity marked another step in the school’s continuing integration of digital technology into teaching, learning, and assessment.
The digital administration of the tests was undertaken in line with Division Memorandum No. 313, s. 2026, which supports the expanded use of the Xepto LMS in schools across the division.
Supporting timely learner intervention
Digital assessment platforms can help teachers organize test administration, review learner responses, identify competencies that require reinforcement, and plan appropriate follow-up activities.
Teachers Prepare Through LAC Sessions
Before the scheduled assessment, Grade 9 and Grade 10 teachers participated in a series of Learning Action Cell sessions focused on the use of the Xepto LMS.
The sessions provided teachers with practical guidance on navigating the platform, preparing and uploading teacher-made summative tests, managing learner access, and reviewing assessment results.

Teachers practiced managing learner access and reviewing submitted responses through the platform.
These preparatory activities helped address possible instructional and technical concerns before the actual administration of the tests. They also strengthened teachers’ capacity to use digital tools as part of classroom assessment.
A More Organized Assessment Process
Through the Xepto LMS, learners answered their tests in a structured digital environment, while teachers gained a more efficient system for administering, organizing, and reviewing assessment information.
The platform also provides opportunities for teachers to examine learner responses more systematically. Results may be used to identify competencies that require further instruction and to plan remediation, enrichment, or other appropriate learner-support activities.
Technology as a Tool, Not the Final Goal
The value of digital assessment does not depend on technology alone. Effective implementation still requires well-designed test questions, clear instructions, reliable access, appropriate learner support, and meaningful use of assessment results.
As the school continues to strengthen technology-enabled learning, the primary focus remains on improving the quality of instruction and helping learners achieve the intended competencies.
